Purpose and Scope:

Amentum is in search of a General Maintenance Technician for a role located on a military site in the UAE supporting the USAF. The General Maintenance Technician will handle operating, inspecting, maintaining, and fixing structural elements like pre-engineered permanent, semi-permanent, and temporary facilities such as tension fabric shelters, trailer offices, lodging, metal ladders, stairs, railings, structures for air conditioning units, among others as specified in the USAF contract.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair structural components, roofing and floor systems, foundations, gutter systems, and surface coverings.
  • Perform metal and fabric repair, fabrication work, welding support, corrosion control, pavement painting, vinyl sign production, locksmith services, and form work for concrete.
  • Remodel, refurbish, or demolish existing facilities.
  • Handle protective coatings, sealants, epoxies, glues, paints, and fencing.
  • Other assigned duties.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a standard security clearance. Contractors must have at least two years of experience in construction. Qualified to work on assigned USAF systems or hold a USAF 5-level certification equivalent with three years of experience as a general maintenance technician at a similar USAF military installation. Prior experience with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in working with Government or military personnel. Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals. Must hold a valid state driver license.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of military/technical training in Structures/General Maintenance Technician.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer candidates with diverse structure skills in the USAF. Capable of obtaining and maintaining facility credentials. US Citizenship is mandatory for facility credentials at this location.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

When on the job, the employee will frequently walk, use hands, reach, talk, and occasionally taste or smell. The role involves climbing, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying tools/equipment. Vision abilities such as close vision, color vision, and adjusting focus are required. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, varied weather conditions, and potential substances. Moderate noise level. Ability to work with others and perform physical tasks in extreme conditions like heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, and outdoor work.
