The Aquila School opened in September 2018, initially with only primary children, growing to become a mixed 3-18 through school in future years. The school is located in a residential area of Dubailand and focuses on providing children with amazing learning. We have grown very quickly and expect to have around 1300 pupils from FS1 to Y12 in the coming school year.

Teachers should be skilled at ensuring that children are actively learning throughout each lesson and ensuring that children make as much progress as possible and love coming to school.

Children and families love our school due to our focus on amazing learning and developing a sense of community and school connectedness. Teachers enjoy working here because they are genuinely empowered to teach the children what they need to learn right now.

The Aquila School is the first new build school designed and managed by The International Schools Partnerships (ISP) a comparatively new and rapidly growing organisation with schools in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico and the USA.

Primary Inclusion Teacher Key Responsibilities

Working with groups and individuals to support learning across the curriculum under the direction of the teacher. This could include the delivery of intervention programmes following a published programme or under the guidance of the class teacher or inclusion teacher.Encouraging independence i.e. helping the children to achieve their objectives (through questioning, dialogue, demonstrating and modelling) rather than doing the work for themTasks to support the day to day running of the school- e.g. preparing resources, being responsible for specific areas etc.Engaging the pupils in meaningful talk at all opportunities in order to develop language, and build relationshipsSupervising the children, for example on trips, at break times, travelling around the school.Managing pupil behaviour in a positive manner and being a positive role model in line with The Aquila Way on behaviour e.g. giving golden tickets, acknowledging children who have made good choices etc.Ensuring confidentiality at all times i.e.- never discussing any aspect of the work of the school other than with colleagues in schoolBeing proactive in knowing the expectations of your work for each sessionMeeting at least weekly with the inclusion team and phase leaderWorking closely with the teachers to ensure there is effective communication-both oral and written concerning pupil progress and learningBeing proactive in your own professional development- if there is an element of your role you are less confident in carrying out- ask Person specification
