Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England, but is influenced by current global topics and nuances of the UAE, meeting the specific interests of our international community of children. ASCS is completely technology enabled, a Google certified school, ensuring all teachers and children are equipped with Chrome books. Our staff and children are fully conversant with technology within the classroom and home learning. Although subjects are taught discretely, our Secondary teaching takes a Design Thinking approach to learning, intended to engage learners in problem solving, critical thinking, making connections across the curriculum, and preparing them for the next stage of their learning journey.

What we are looking for?

Head of Business Studies and Economics

Our forward thinking and progressive British Curriculum School in Dubai is looking for an 'Outstanding' Head of Business and Economics, offering GCSE, and A Level courses, our school offers a truly international environment for our students, with a distinctly British flavour. The secondary and Post 16 phases of our school are on their way to 'Very Good' as per the DSIB Framework, we are looking to recruit a dynamic, passionate teacher and leader who will join us on our road to 'Outstanding'.

Successful candidate must:

  1. Has a undergraduate degree or major in Economics
  2. Has a PGCE in Economics
  3. Confident to lead the department with a proven record of raising student progress, attainment and results.
  4. Has at least 3 years of experience teaching in a British Curriculum GCSE and A level, Edexcel
  5. Has evidence of 'Outstanding' teaching practice
  6. Is an expert in their subject of Business Studies/Economics and has the passion to inspire a love of learning in students
  7. Is an excellent team player, willing to contribute significantly to the department
  8.
