This role is a new position, adding to our secondary school staff body due to continued growth. You will be joining an established Arts team, which already includes hard working, dedicated and collaboratively-minded teachers. Therefore, your experience and ability to collaborate and contribute to a team that achieves more than the sum of its parts is essential. Our young school is growing into the IB Diploma Programme (DP) for first teaching from August 2024: whilst experience of IB programmes is not required, knowledge of the DP or MYP in Music is an advantage. Experience of teaching Music to secondary ages in a way that enthuses them about composing, performing, ensembles and creative risk taking is a must. If you don't have experience with IB DP or MYP, we will be looking for an approach to teaching that aligns with the IB: collaborative inquiry; active learning; differentiated and multi-modal. Teachers with experience from many national systems will enjoy the opportunities to step back from content-heavy, prescribed curriculum into an inquiry cycle that places skills development, performance and reflection at an equal footing with musicianship. A willingness to contribute to the musical culture of the school is a must, and the formal curriculum teaching load will reflect this expectation.
Our CurriculumKCC is an International Baccalaureate World School catering for all grades from Pre K to Grade 11, offering this internationally acclaimed curriculum respected for its relevance to today's multicultural and increasingly global society. PYP and MYP are fully established already, and we will expand into DP in 2024. Our school is a contemporary and dynamic organisation, educating students from over 80 nations who collectively speak 45 mother tongues.
Who are we?As a Taaleem teacher you will join one of the largest, most respected education providers in the United Arab Emirates. What do we look for?Due to ADEK regulations, we require our teachers to have one of the following:
Bachelor's Degree in specialization or related subject with PGCE/PGDE or QTS2 years of teaching experience in subject.Experience of teaching the IB MYP and DP curriculum is desirable but not a requirement.
