Role
The main task of this role is to contribute to teaching and supporting students in the psychology program. As a lecturer, your responsibilities will include delivering lectures, seminars, and practical workshops; teaching research methods, assessing assignments, supervising projects, and providing personal tutoring. For the Senior Lecturer position, all the aforementioned duties apply, with the added responsibility of creating innovative teaching content, designing assignments, leading modules and programs, and having a greater involvement in research. Active participation in departmental meetings and helping shape the psychology division's strategic direction, particularly in terms of employability, is a sought-after aspect of this role. You will also be expected to handle administrative tasks and be flexible in undertaking various responsibilities as needed.
Ideal Candidate
DMU Dubai is in search of a seasoned academic specializing in Psychology. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Psychology or its equivalent, be eligible for chartered membership with the British Psychological Society, possess recent teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and have a strong grasp of teaching research methods. Proficiency in setting assessments and grading, as well as a background in research, are essential. Furthermore, the successful applicant should be proficient in leveraging technology for enhanced learning outcomes and be willing to contribute to student recruitment and university-wide activities. The appointment as a lecturer or senior lecturer will be determined based on experience and qualifications. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in specific areas such as Cognitive Neuropsychology, Biological Psychology, Qualitative Research Methods in Psychology, and Clinical Psychology.
