The opportunity:

We are looking for a Cost Consultant with exceptional skills in cost planning and estimating, capable of creating detailed pricing documents. Your expertise will be crucial in collaborating with top-tier international designers to ensure a seamless blend of luxury and value in our ultra-luxury residential and hospitality projects. Bring your strategic vision to reality amidst stunning landscapes and redefine the standards of luxury living.

  • You will assist in cost planning, taking ownership of and presenting cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • You will support the procurement process, ensuring effective performance in stages like prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation.
  • You will aid in providing cost management services to achieve key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly impacting the strategic development of plans.

  • You will support financially and ethically viable management operations, influencing the attainment of business goals aligned with business and regulatory compliance obligations.
  • You will collaborate towards the mutual goal of transitioning to net zero carbon and play a role in identifying and managing carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.

  • You will mentor Assistant Cost Consultants and other team members to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing cost management procedures and services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies, and selecting contracts.
  • Applying value management techniques at the project's onset.
  • Managing estimating and cost planning activities, including presenting the final cost plan.
  • Supervising the procurement process stages effectively.
  • Overseeing the preparation of contract documents, warranties, and assists in formal execution.
  • Advising on building contract administration.
  • Controlling costs during the contract and producing monthly post-contract cost reports.
  • Identifying all costs related to various project aspects.
  • Evaluating claims for delays and additional costs.
  • Providing comprehensive advice on project completion and administration.
  • Managing a team of Cost Consultants, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
  • Driving improvements in systems and processes.
  • Providing mentoring and training to team members.
  • Building and maintaining internal and external relationships.
  • Working towards the goal of transitioning to net zero carbon.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in the United Arab Emirates is crucial for client approval.
  • Sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Identifying business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Participating in initiatives that add value and lead to service enhancement.
  • Promoting an inclusive work environment.
  • Understanding personal strengths and weaknesses and seeking support when needed.

You should also have:

  • A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent.
  • Membership in a professional body such as MRICS/RICS or equivalent.
  • Proficient knowledge in a specific sector/market.
  • Relevant technical qualifications for the project portfolio.
  • Experience in various contract forms.
  • Capability in Contract Administration and Management.
