The school opened in 2017. It offers an inclusive, exciting and outstanding education to an international community of students from FS1 to Year and will continue to grow organically to Year 13.

The campus is state-of-the-art with separate buildings for each phase as well as a 380 seat auditorium. There are three temperature controlled swimming pools, fully equipped science and computer labs, specialist rooms for art, DT, music, and drama, a library, two multipurpose sports halls, a full size football pitch, a variety of outdoor play areas, a coffee shop and a spacious canteen. The academic year will see the opening of a brand new secondary building, significantly enhancing the current facilities.

Dubai Heights Academy has an opening for a dynamic accountant.

As a Junior Accountant with a focus on accounts payable, you will play a vital role in managing the payment process for the organisation. Your responsibilities will include processing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Receive and review purchase requests from various departments.Verify the accuracy and completeness of purchase requests, ensuring they comply with company policies and budgetary guidelines.Communicate with department heads or requestors to clarify details or obtain necessary approvalsProcess supplier invoices accurately and in a timely mannerEnsure suppliers are paid in a timely mannerProcess petty cash requestsManage supplier contractsAssist departments with quotes from vendors for goods or services and evaluate quotes.Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure favourable pricing and terms for the organisation.Coordinate annual orders for recurring supplies or services.Assist the Finance Manager in working with departments to forecast their annual needs and place orders accordingly.Assist Finance manager with VAT complianceAccurately calculate and record VAT on applicable purchases and expenses.Maintain petty cash funds and ensure proper documentation of all disbursements and replenishments.Reconcile petty cash transactions regularly to ensure accuracy and accountability.Reconcile credit card transactions and ensure it is paid in timeProcess online orders for office supplies, equipment, or other goods as needed.Support and assist other members of the finance team and understand their processes to provide cover during peak times and annual leaveEssential:Professional accounting/financial or related qualificationHave a minimum of 2 years experience in accounting fieldExcellent analytical skills and attention to detailStrong written and oral communication skillsHave exceptional organisational, administrative and IT skills (particularly Excel / google sheets)Be flexible and adaptable to work with the changing needs of the school, including working outside of regular school operational hours, when requiredExtensive experience as accounts receivable and accounts payableEvidence of continuous professional developmentA creative, tenacious, self-motivated individual who thrives under pressureEagerness to learn and grow in the field of accounting.A team player that is willing to assist other members of the team when required These above-mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive, the post-holder may be required to carry out other duties as required by the school management Desirable:Experience of working in a school or educational settingExperience of using Orison softwareIn return we can offer you: A positive and innovative working environment supported by students, staff, parents and governors A collaborative and supportive attitude amongst the school community which promotes a sense of teamwork and unity Our Compensation and benefits package includes (where applicable): Competitive tax-free salary Medical Insurance coverage End of service gratuity in line with UAE Labour Law Interviews will take place at Dubai Heights Academy or via Zoom, should a face to face interview not be possible.
