Role Overview:

We are in search of a proactive, experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee operational functions in the Middle East and Africa region.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with driving operational excellence, strategic planning, executing organizational priorities, managing risks, and enhancing the value proposition.

As a direct report to the CEO, the COO will offer guidance and insights to the Executive Committee on operational governance matters. This position necessitates a deep understanding of the Middle East and Africa markets, along with experience working in cross-functional teams across different locations. The COO will collaborate closely with senior management to establish and execute operational strategies that facilitate business growth, enhance profitability, and elevate customer and client satisfaction, often requiring teamwork across various departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service Operations Delivery: Ensure satisfactory service delivery to customers and clients in MEA through daily interactions, monitoring service metrics, and leading the ME Voice of the Customer program.
  • Strategy & Planning: Supervise strategy formulation and vision articulation for MEA Operations, collaborating with regional leaders and matrix partners to design a multi-year roadmap.
  • Governance and Regulatory Affairs: Oversee all operational activities, partner engagement, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and coordination with local regulators.
  • Project Leadership: Support the implementation of MEA Strategic Priorities to realize the long-term vision.
  • Business Continuity Plan: Develop and maintain a system disaster recovery plan.
  • Risk Management: Manage risks to ensure compliance and control business risks in alignment with future growth strategies.
  • Technology: Drive technology initiatives to support business expansion, profitability, and seamless system integration.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10 – 15 years of industry and leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in leading and influencing within a matrixed environment.
  • Willingness to travel 25% or more, primarily in the GCC and Africa.
