Nursing Care

· Manage and monitor health concerns and attend to sick children e.g. running noses, coughs, bruises and all children's general well-being throughout the day.

· Daily temperature and head to toe checks for all children in the Nursery.

· Implement first aid as per health authority guidelines and Nursery policies after any incidents within Nursery.

· Complete incident/accident reports as appropriate on Educore, at time of incident/accident, describing the treatment provided and any follow up advice.

· Inform Nursery Manager of all incidents and file report copies at nursery.

· Call parents/carers to inform them if their child has fallen ill or if an incident occurs at the Nursery, with assistance of operations manager if needed.

· Organise monthly doctor's visits as required by DHA/KHDA for the Nursery license.

· Keep an up to date allergies list for all children (to be placed in each classroom and in the Nurse's Room) and to ensure the child is not exposed to these items at the Nursery.

· Ensure that all parents are written to explaining reasons for prohibited food e.g. nuts etc.

· Keep an up to date file of each child's medical forms, immunization records, Incident and accident reports, reminding parents when an immunization is due.

· Daily survey of children's food – oversee contents of lunchboxes at snack/lunch times, to ensure there are no prohibited foods (nuts etc.), chocolate, or junk food and that food is safe to eat, has not gone bad or out of date.

· Manage hand washing and nappy changing routines and procedures, providing induction training on this for new staff and conducting regular checks.

Cleaning

· Manage staff cleaning rota ensuring all duties are shared out equally.

· Arrange and oversee weekly deep clean of all areas and resources (Fridays)

· Train cleaning staff on methods, procedures and products to use for cleaning.

· Ensure all bedding, linen, rugs, cloths, soft toys etc. are sent home regularly.

· Inspect cleaning standards and report shortfalls ensuring a high standard at all times.

· Oversee monthly pest control servicing.

· Conduct a weekly stock check of cleaning products, monitoring usage of tissues, cloths, wipes etc to ensure minimum waste and maximum efficiency.

· Submit cleaning supplies purchase list to operations Administrative Clerk, ordering items within assigned budget once approved.

Health and Safety

· Conduct daily safety checks in each classroom, sleep room and play area – removing any broken items and reporting items requiring maintenance, checking fire exits, fire extinguishers, code locked doors and bathroom doors for security and safety.

· Conduct daily cleanliness and hygiene checks - inspect cleaning of all areas, throw away leftover/out of date food in kitchen/refrigerator.

· Ensure all food containers and water bottles are labelled (staff and children).

· Work with Nursery Manager to ensure all civil defence requirements are met -fire safety contract is maintained, fire extinguishers are regularly serviced, fire drills and lockdown drills are conducted once per term.

· CCTV administration – recording incidents and playbacks.

Assisting with Children/Reception

· Occasional reception cover if admin staff/management are absent – answering phone, opening door, taking messages.

· Help teaching staff care for children when teaching/class assistants are ill/absent or when extra help is needed.

· Assist teaching staff with children on day trips away from nursery premises.

· Assist teachers and assistants during the afternoon club.

General Tasks

· Perform any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Nursery Director or Nursery Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

UAE Attested Bachelors' degree in Nursing

DHA Licence

First Aid

Fire Marshall

Minimum Experience:

6 months experience in a Nursery Nurse role.
