The Sheikh Zayed Academy for Boys is looking to appoint an Assistant Head of Secondary in August 2024.

This crucial position within the Secondary leadership team would suit someone with experience as an established and successful senior leader or assistant head who is aspiring to their next step in leadership.

Support the implementation of the academic vision and strategy for the school.
Provide inspirational leadership to teaching staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Foster a positive and collegiate academic environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning.

Oversee the development, review, and implementation of the school's curriculum, ensuring alignment with international standards, compliance with UAE guidelines, and best educational practices.

Ensure that the curriculum is planned and delivered in line with the Massachusetts standards across all grades.
Work with the Digital Innovation Team to promote the use of technologies in enhancing and deepening students' learning experiences.
Participate in regular meetings with the Secondary Team to help drive school improvement.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies, making data-driven decisions to enhance student outcomes including implementing strategies informed by metacognition and self-regulation.

Conduct data analysis to assess the impact of teaching strategies and assessment on student outcomes and report these to the Head of Secondary.

Stay abreast of educational trends, innovations, and research to inform curriculum development and assessment.
Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
Support the professional growth of teaching staff, identifying training needs and addressing these through mentorship, coaching, and training programmes.
Contribute to Inspection processes and to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare for and participate in ADEK inspections.
Conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure teaching staff meets and exceeds educational standards.
Collaborate with members of the secondary and the pastoral team to promote the holistic development and wellbeing of students.
Implement initiatives that create a positive and inclusive school culture, fostering a sense of belonging and respect.
Foster strong partnerships with parents to support their involvement in their child's education.

Requirements:

PGCE or equivalent qualification in Education
A minimum of 5 years' experience
A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check
