  • Set up, assist with central line insertion and it's management;
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medications and their actions, interactions, side effects, and calculations;
  • Administer intravenous therapy and medication, IV, IM, SC injection;
  • Manage and set up infusion pump and syringe pump;
  • Administration of blood and blood products;
  • Surgical wound care and assessment, remove sutures, clips;
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures performed;
  • Vital signs monitoring, 12 lead ECG, pulse oximetry;
  • Interpretation of ABG and laboratory results;
  • Foley catheter insertion and care
  • Pain management and patientcontrolled analgesia;
  • Monitor and record fluid balance;
  • Patient and family education skills;
  • Point of care testing;
  • Computer skills and patient documentation;
  • Time management;
  • Teamwork;
  • BLS, ACLS;
  • Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process within established clinic, policies and procedures, standards, protocols etc;
  • Demonstrates knowledge and clinical assessment skills appropriate to the clinical area;
  • Takes direct and appropriate action in an urgent and emergency situation;
  • Documents all assessments, interventions and other pertinent information on the patient's health care record in a timely and ongoing manner;
  • Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills when interacting with patients/families, other health care team members and staff of other departments;
  • Complies with clinic infection control and safety protocols, maintains safe environment;
  • Addresses issues using a problemsolving framework;
  • Initiates the nursing chain of command is unable to resolve issues satisfactorily;
  • Works with all care team members in activities designed for the improvement of patient care outcomes;
  • Assumes responsibility for own professional growth identifying those areas of clinical knowledge and skills that need further development;
  • Continuously seeks a way to improve;
  • Uses research/current references in the provision of evidencebased care;
  • Serves as a professional role model, demonstrates respect, compassion and cultural sensitivity to patients/families and other clinic employees;
  • Advocates for excellence in patient care and for patient rights;
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality of all patient information, maintains privacy and dignity for all patients and their families;
  • Complies with and participates in Quality Management Processes and activities;
  • Acts as a preceptor and/or resource for new employees and other staff;
  • Participates in performance improvement activities;
