The TeamCundall's Fire Safety Engineering team's mission is to play a key role in making sure that a building's fire protection not only comply with the relevant legislation, but also provide a safe environment in the most cost-effective manner, without compromising the architectural integrity of the overall building design.

The Fire Safety Engineering team's expertise in the design and development of fire safety solutions is well known throughout the industry and as a team we offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, and professional excellence.

This is a leadership role and the successful candidate will be expected to develop the regional team and service offering to existing and new clients.

The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Associate level Fire Consultant to our Dubai office, to play a key role in the leadership and delivery of fire safety engineering design services across a variety of sectors including entertainment, healthcare, education, retail, commercial and tall buildings.

In this role, you will take responsibility for the design of fire safety engineering solutions including:

Feasibility Studies for master-planning and concept design stagesFire Safety Strategies to ensure early approval from authoritiesAdvanced Fire Safety Design to demonstrate fire safety engineering complianceFire Strategy Drawings for more detailed designsExpert advice and support during the Statutory Approval and construction processEvacuation Strategies and modelling softwareSmoke Management and modelling softwareStructural Fire EngineeringOptimisation of Fire Safety SystemsFire Risk Management and AssessmentFire Investigation

The successful candidate will also assist with the preparation of fee proposal documents and fee calculations, monitor, and manage resourcing requirements for projects, as well as review and verify designs produced by other team members, providing feedback as required and signing off designs.

Your role will be crucial to the successful delivery of innovative design solutions for some of the most exciting building projects in the MENA region, and you will take ownership and responsibility for training and mentoring more junior members of the team.

The SkillsEducated to degree level in a related discipline and a Chartered engineer, you will have gained substantial relevant experience in Fire Safety Engineering design within a building services context and have proven your technical understanding in relevant design software.

Having gained practical experience in working to British Standard, NFPA, IBC, IFC and Performance-based design approach, you understand the role of fire safety engineering for the built environment and have a passion for providing excellence in fire safety engineering design.

Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills are essential.
