AtkinsRealis are currently looking for experienced Commercial Manager to join our team to work on newly awarded projects across varying sectors and various locations within UAE. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing team on high profile projects within in UAE.

Qualifications / experience**- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying Or Degree qualified in Engineering with MSc in Quantity Surveying

  • MRICS
  • Has at least 10 years Middle East Experience
  • Managed a medium sized team (s) up to 10 people
  • Has successfully delivered one or more major project with a value of over $100m
  • Can demonstrate pre and post contract experience on various projects
  • Typically manages / oversee multiple projects or delivers a major commission
  • Is known as a technical service delivery expert in the CM business

Technical knowledge**
Market knowledge**- Is Knowledgeable of the competition

  • Is knowledgeable of the market conditions
  • Is knowledgeable of the main upcoming developments
  • Is knowledgeable of our key clients and the projects they are undertaking
  • Is aware of upcoming local developments
  • Has a good knowledge of the local specialist supply chain for estimation purposes Construction technology
  • Has a thorough understanding of all aspects of construction
  • Has a thorough understanding of local contracts and practices
  • Has a broad range of experience across various vertical and horizontal construction assets
  • Is aware construction technology solutions that Employers may wish to discuss
  • Is an expert on one or more type of construction technology

Employment

Post-contract

  • Can undertake interim payments to be approved by Managers
  • Can write monthly cost reports to be approved by Managers
  • Can evaluate claims in relation to quantum in coordination with the Engineer
  • Can evaluate and negotiate variations with general contractors
  • Can manage provisional sum expenditure
  • Can make assessments for materials of site
  • Can make payment recommendations for professional services for approval by Managers
  • Can produce project final account to be approved by Managers
  • Manages teams on one or more site and reports back to their LM on all aspects of our services delivery
  • Can interact with Employers at monthly stake holder meetings and represent our organisation

Responsibility and accountability**- Understands and executes their role in relation to the RACI matrix pertaining to our complete service delivery and that of the Commercial Manager.

People

  • Has line management responsibility
  • Manages a medium sized team (s)
  • Undertakes PDR reviews
  • Participates in toolbox talks
  • Participates in leadership meetings including setting objectives
  • Addresses human resource matters with their Line Manager and HR
  • Addresses hiring needs by participating in interviews with new employees

Internal management**- Practices the use of the CM processes and procedures and audits its use at project level

  • Is a competent user of measurement and estimation software
  • Is a competent user of benchmarking software
  • Is aware and participates in the Stage Gate process
  • Manages CTC's for their allocated projects
  • Manages their PSR's in compliance with the timescales and requirements
  • Manages staff attendance and leave
  • Is aware of our internal processes for time management and leave
  • Is compliant with all ED+I requirements of the business
  • Is compliant with all obligatory training
  • Complies with time management and dress policy
  • Is aware of the CM business plan and actively executes the part that applies to them
  • Can communicate the outline of our Business plan to Employees if required
  • Is aware of the wider Program Advisory business goals and can communicate these to Employees is required
  • Ensures they attend all PDR interim meetings

Clients

  • Is aware of our key clients
  • Builds relationships with Clients on their projects at project and midmanagement level
  • Participates in client meetings with Managers as required
