Your new role, what's involved?

WSP Abu Dhabi is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning within the construction consultancy sector, with a strong focus on utilities and infrastructure projects. Recent experience working in Abu Dhabi is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Support and Supervision:

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing the execution of utilities and infrastructure projects.
  • Supervise daily on-site activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, standards, and regulations.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures to ensure that all construction work meets the required standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress and identify any issues or non-conformities.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Assist in facilitating communication between WSP, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective collaboration among all parties involved in the project.

Technical Assistance:

  • Provide technical support and guidance on engineering and construction-related issues.
  • Help identify and resolve technical problems or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports and progress updates.
  • Assist in preparing regular project status reports for clients and senior management.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
  • Promote a culture of safety, conducting safety briefings, and ensuring that all workers are trained and equipped to work safely.
  • Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and support the implementation of corrective actions as needed.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and execution within the construction consultancy sector.
  • Recent experience in Abu Dhabi is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in utilities and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of UAE construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
