- Work directly with the Resident Engineer to manage the health and safety programs on the project site;
- Review Contractor sitespecific Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and safety planning documents for the project;
- Ensure that the results of H&S audits, inspections, and training for Contractors are followedup to ensure their timely closure;
- Assist with safety reporting to keep the client, the company, and operational leadership and staff fully aware of H&S performance and issues;
- Support the investigation of incidents / injuries on the project, help develop root cause / trend analysis data, and be involved in addressing mitigation actions that may be discovered;
- Ensure the project documentation is correct, complete, neat, and consistent with the company's policies and procedures;
- Interact with project personnel, including contractors, project managers, engineers and clients and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings;
- Abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the sitespecific health and safety plans (HASP) and the company's Environmental Health & Safety Management policies and procedures;
- Perform related work as required.
Education and Licensure:
- High school diploma or GED. (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of applicable experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Experience with construction site safety risks and safety procedures for marine, structural, and coastal projects. (required)
- Ability to monitor several different types of construction activities simultaneously. (required)
- Previous project management background and knowledge of CPM software. (preferred).
- Excellent writing skills and detail orientation. (required)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controls. (required)
- Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or craw. (required)
- Strong willingness to work outdoors with interest in building a career in the engineering consulting field. (required)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be selfmotivated, and possess a strong work ethic. (required)
