Job Summary:

Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals who assess, diagnose, and treat patients with physical difficulties resulting from injury, illness, disability, or aging.

They develop and implement personalized treatment plans to enhance mobility, alleviate pain, and prevent further injuries. The role involves working closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to promote overall health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments of patients.
  • Utilize diagnostic techniques such as patient history, physical observation, and functional testing.
  • Identify and diagnose physical issues, impairments, and disabilities.

Treatment Planning:

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Set realistic shortterm and longterm goals in collaboration with patients.
  • Use a variety of physiotherapy techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and electrotherapy.

Therapeutic Interventions:

  • Administer treatments to improve patient mobility, strength, and function.
  • Educate patients on exercises and lifestyle changes to support recovery and prevent recurrence.

Patient Education and Support:

  • Provide patients with information on their conditions and the rehabilitation process.
  • Teach patients and caregivers how to perform exercises and use therapeutic equipment.
  • Offer emotional support and encouragement throughout the treatment process.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Prepare reports for physicians, insurance companies, and other relevant parties as required.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.

Collaboration and Consultation:

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans.
  • Refer patients to other specialists or services when necessary.

Professional Development:

  • Stay current with advancements in physiotherapy techniques, treatments, and research.
  • Participate in continuing education courses, workshops, and seminars.
  • Maintain licensure and certifications as required by regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.

Licensure/Certification: Valid DHA license to practice as a physiotherapist.

Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.
