Key Stage One Continuous Provision Specialist


Sharjah English School is a small, inclusive, non-for-profit school, occupying a spacious and attractive campus in close proximity to Dubai.

We are a well-established co-educational school offering the National Curriculum to 900 children from Foundation through to A Level. As well as serving the local British expatriate community, the school has students from many other nationalities. We are a British School Overseas and British Schools of the Middle East accredited school.


For September 2023, we are seeking an experienced, passionate practitioner to lead our team of innovative Infant teachers into the next stage of our Continuous Provision journey.


Professional Experience:

  • An outstanding classroom practitioner, experienced in leading the development of Continuous Provision in Key Stage One.
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of the principles behind continuous provision and the balance between childinitiated and adultled learning
  • An indepth and up to date knowledge of the English National Curriculum and the skills to make it relevant and engaging for all learners
  • A track record of initiating and implementing strategies to develop the quality of teaching and learning
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with staff, parents and other stakeholders
  • An educational leadership qualification such as NPQML/EY/LT/SL (desirable)

Personal Qualities and Skills:

  • An ability to articulate a clear vision of excellence that sets high standards for all pupils and staff
  • An ambitious and diligent professional who can influence, motivate and inspire others
  • A good team player
  • Able to work positively and effectively with students and parents, outside agencies and colleagues
  • An ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to issues of equity & working with culturally diverse families
  • A strong personal presence and high level interpersonal skills
  • Confident and articulate in communicating with others

Essential requirements:

  • A certified UK teaching qualification, at degree level such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE and Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent).
  • At least five years of fulltime classroom teaching experience.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
