Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide support and participate in liaison with government authorities regarding development objectives, policies and procedures.
  2. Work from concept design through to detailed design, producing CAD drawings, graphic presentations, and design narratives to budget and schedule.
  3. Work closely with the Master Planners and design team to develop master plan, urban planning, and landscaping solution for various types of project.
  4. Interact and communicate with clients and consultants during the design phase and at presentations.
  5. Solve problems in connection with the urban design and planning of large projects.
  6. Assist in developing urban design and planning concept incorporating site planning, landscape planning, transportation, and infrastructure systems.
  7. Assist with the preparation of complete design documents on major projects.
  8. Coordinate work with the project team.
  9. Responsible for various portions of master plan and site plan development documents team working on assigned tasks within a project.
  10. Develop narratives on land use, context, concept, and detailed maps including SWOT analysis.
  11. Emphasize team work and collaboration within a dedicated team to meet client deadlines.
  12. Manage, coordinate, and lead smaller, less complex projects independently with less oversight.
  13. Lead smaller project client meetings and take ownership of report structure and content.
  14. Coordinate teams to prepare project deliverables and applicable planning authorities requirements and coordinate with various disciplines' technical input and output into a project or a proposal.
  15. Initiate and drive innovative approaches to efficient project delivery.
  16. Prepare and review datasets to correlate population projections against market demands and supply.
  17. Prepare Methodology for small-scale proposals without direct supervision and able to understand and carry out the necessary internal processes to obtain approvals for proposal submission.
  18. Lead specialty topics/interests in urban planning e.g. wellness planning/placemaking.
  19. Stay up-to-date with the current industry trends, approaches, tools, and methods.
Candidate Requirements:
  1. Proven leadership capability.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning and Design, Urban Policy, Sustainable Development, or equivalent. Master's degree preferred.
  3. 10+ years of related urban planning/master planning experience required.
  4. Professional membership such as RTPI, AICP, PIA, CIP, SIP or equivalent preferred.
  5. Experience in planning the MENA region, especially in the GCC area.
  6. Good knowledge of data collection and research capabilities with the ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
  7. Solid understanding of various scales of planning projects and the ability to communicate effectively.
  8. Thorough understanding of local and international practices and test standards for Urban Planning.
  9. Ability to carry out baseline assessment, analyze various data, and develop criteria for the assessment of master plans.
  10. Ability to develop implementation and phasing planning.
  11. Sound understanding of planning/environmental governance and policy and the ability to communicate and make recommendations to clients.
  12. Software requirements include InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  13. Strong eye for detail with a methodical and organized approach.
  14. Forward-thinking individual ready to bring fresh ideas to the team.
  15. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  16. Ability to develop internal and external working relationships effectively.
