Position Summary:
Ramboll are looking for a BIM Manager – Mechanical.

The successful candidate will coordinate with project managers, engineers and other technicians for technical delivery of wide range of engineering drawings for projects of varying complexity.

In addition to engineering tasks, Senior BIM Modeller is also expected to support HoDs in competence development of the drafting team within the department.

Principal technician would be key drivers for technical quality of the work and compliance with project objectives and quality standards.


Responsibilities:

BIM Implementation:
Lead the implementation of BIM processes and standards within the design team and across project stakeholders

Collaboration:
Facilitate collaboration among architects, engineers, contractors, and other project team members through the use of BIM, ensuring seamless information exchange

Model Development:
Oversee the development of detailed 3D models using BIM software, ensuring they accurately represent the design intent and comply with industry standards

Data Management:
Manage and organize the vast amount of data associated with the BIM model, ensuring that it is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to all relevant parties

Clash Detection:
Utilize clash detection tools within BIM software to identify and resolve conflicts in the design before construction, reducing the likelihood of rework and cost overruns

Documentation:
Generate construction documentation directly from the BIM model, ensuring consistency and accuracy in drawings and specifications

Quality Control:
Implement quality control processes to review BIM models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements

Training and Support:
Provide training and support to team members on BIM tools and processes, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment

Innovation:

Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in BIM technology, exploring innovative ways to enhance the design and construction process.

Mentor
  • Provides guidance and knowledge to juniors and works towards competence enhancement of other technician within the teamWill coordinate with project managers and/or engineers for draughting work in a given project.

Is responsible for technical correctness and timely delivery of the drawings and documents in his projectsUnderstanding of all aspects governing operational & up to date knowledge of the latest technological advancements, regulations/guidelines &statutory compliances in the industry.

Effective resource planning/optimization with a focus on waste reduction, enhancing productivity & profitability; ability to use sound decision-making skills to effectively perform in a self-directed environment.

Possessing valuable insights, keen analysis team approach to implement best practices, adept at working in high-pressure environments with strict deadlines &multiple deliverables.

Technical expertise in Revit MEP (BIM software), AutoCAD MEP, Naviswork, AutoCAD & familiar with BIM/CAD Standards, ASHRAE, ISHRAE, ACAD – (2004 to 2012), Navisworks & Revit MEP 2009 to 2023.3D,4D Drawings.

BIM MODELING, Coordination and Preparation BOQ.Will assist the project team towards developing/implementing draughting standards.
Would assist in even distribution of work within the drafting team.
Will assist in improving the efficiency and productivity of the drafting team.
Communicates the training and development needs to his supervisor.
Exercises self-discipline and work ethicsRespect and follow company policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 15 years of professional experience ideally having worked on major Middle East projects.
Strong knowledge of Revit is essential.

Core Knowledge of HVAC and PH.Knowledge of modeling tools such as MagiCAD would be desirableKnowledge of 3D modeling of all services Mechanical, plumbingKnowledge of 3D modeling of Electrical will be addon.

Experience in preparing general arrangement drawings, Experience in all stages of drawings such as Concept, Schematic, Detail design and GFCA robust knowledge of Building Services design and experience of services full co-ordinationMust have knowledge of BIM/CAD standards and aware of Engineering terminologyMust have experience on international , team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Flexible attitude, in an environment with frequently changing deadlines can be relied on to meet deadlines,committed to both their work and personal development, with a willingness to widen their experience, including knowledge base and leadership skillsKnowledge of Microsoft applicationsGood level of written and spoken EnglishEXPERIENCEMinimum of +15years' design experience, 10years' experience in Middle East projects is preferable.

Proven track record in building services design with different types of sectors, including high rise, commercial, residential, retail, Healthcare, Industrial, refurbishment, etc;Proven record as a Project Engineer on several projects.
