As an Accounts and Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial aspects of our business and driving the company's accounting and financial strategy and planning.

You will be managing the accounting and finance functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the integrity of the general ledger including the preparation, verification, and input of journal entries.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts as requested.
  • Enters deposits into accounting software and verifies accurate accounts and amounts are entered.
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and review of the outstanding checklist for stale checks.
  • Assists Accounts Payable to clear stale checks from the list.
  • Assists Accounts receivable to update the pending and PDC entries.
  • Reconciles and maintains balance sheet accounts.
  • Assists with monthend and yearend closings, and annual financial statement audits.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned by the direct Manager and CEO.
  • Assist various departments with accounting issues and queries.
  • Analyse and perform foreign currency exchanges.
  • Support the Auditor in conducting internal and external audits.
  • Assist in tax preparation and filing activities.
  • Update the provision entries before the end of the month. As instructed.
  • Update bank fees, mutual bank fund transfers, TR payments, and VAT payable entries.
  • Conduct quarterly financial audits for STAR LAND Group companies.
  • Enter all journal entries into the accounting software.
  • Ensure that reversing entries occur.
  • Create recurring journal entry templates.
  • Ensure that recurring entries are changed or terminated at appropriate trigger points.
  • Support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Provide backup support to the accounts payable team as needed.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and yearend close processes.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Maintain general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audits.

Finance Functions:

  • Oversee the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop financial strategies and provide recommendations to senior management to improve financial performance.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manage the accounting team and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
  • Analyse financial data and create financial models to support decisionmaking.
  • Identify areas for cost savings and revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve overall business performance.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders including investors, auditors, and regulators.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risk.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in accounting standards.
  • Evaluate and manage financial software and systems to improve efficiency.

Job Specifications:

  • Master's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (CPA, CMA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1015 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 8 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations and standards. Having a very strong grip and knowledge of VAT and Corporate Tax as per FTA.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Skills:

  • Indepth understanding of financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Experience with financial reporting and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to nonfinancial stakeholders along with the CEO.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases. Expertise with ZOHO ERP system.
