About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Human Resources to join our Human Capital Team in Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Resort. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide leadership, direction and support to the HR teamin order to increase knowledge, skill set and share best practice.
  • Develop and drive the SBU HR Strategy in line with Corporate and Regional HR direction andmonitor its execution to ensure achievement of theobjectives.
  • Drive the continuous improvement agenda with particular focus on maximising productivity, devolving HR responsibilities and building leadership capability through the senior and middle managements teams.
  • Ensure free-flow of two-way communication between SBU HR andCorporate andRegional HR and internal communications are coordinated to colleagues receive relevant andtimely messages inan appropriate style and medium.
  • Plan & Deploy the annual HR budget and capex process and ensure P&L's arewell managed andmonitored.
  • Propose changes to organisational structures using best practice organisational development principles to provide the most appropriate structure to support future growth and flexible labour.
  • Ensure National Development initiatives are well communicated and fully supported through employment of nationals and interns from national universities in the country
  • Consult on workforce planning activities in order to optimise staffing levels,productivity and service standards in the mostcost effective manner.
  • Regularly analyse and review HR statistics to identify trends so that attention can be directed to key issues and resources adjusted accordingly.
  • Manage senior management and key HOD appointments ensuring timely and effective recruitment and on-boarding.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of company wide Human Resources policies,procedures and practicesin accordance with the companyobjectives andUAElegislative requirements.
  • Ensure Colleague Opinion Survey results are communicated, analysed and action plans are developed and reviewed on a regular basis to improve colleagues working and living conditions.
  • Ensure Colleague Consultative Committee function is deployed effectively.
  • Advise and coach management on employee relations and performance management issues.
  • Ensure all activities in performance management process are effectively executed so that colleagues have the opportunity toparticipate, receive feedback and givenopportunities to develop.
  • Coordinate & drive talent management process in order to ensure talent management is fully embraced and the benefits fully realised.
  • Regularly coach, mentor and support senior and high potential colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs, develop andmaintain effective relationships and encourage retention.
  • To plan, drive and deploy colleague recognition, reward and engagement activities.
  • Ensure training programmes and development opportunities are deployed at a consistently high standard, aligned with business needs and Jumeirah culture.
  • Ensure consistent standard of customer service, good quality, nutritious and varied menus across colleague dining facilities.
  • Ensure consistent standard and application of health & safety policies and procedures across the property
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or above in a relevant discipline with appropriate professional qualifications and up to date professional knowledge.
  • At least 3 years in a position of direct responsibility for Human Resources Management.
  • Budgeting for large scale projects/operations.
  • Previous experience in a similar role highly regarded.
