Steel Carpenter for Construction Company

Position Overview:


As a Steel Carpenter for a construction company, your primary responsibility will be to construct and install steel structures, frameworks, and components in various construction projects.

You will work closely with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure the successful completion of projects within specified timelines and quality standards.

Your expertise in working with steel materials will be crucial in executing construction plans and contributing to the overall success of the company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Steel Structure Installation: Interpret construction plans and blueprints to determine the layout, dimensions, and specifications of steel structures. Assemble and install steel columns, beams, trusses, and other components according to project requirements.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Utilize various welding techniques to join steel components securely. Fabricate and modify steel elements to meet design specifications, ensuring accuracy and structural integrity.
  • Cutting and Shaping: Use cutting tools such as saws, shears, and torches to shape and modify steel materials. Accurately measure and mark steel components before cutting to ensure precision.
  • Reinforcement and Support: Install reinforcements and supports, such as bracing, anchors, and cables, to enhance the stability and strength of steel structures. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure proper integration of steel elements into the overall project.

Adhere to safety regulations, guidelines, and best practices to maintain a secure work environment. Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any structural deficiencies or potential safety hazards.

  • Material Handling and Inventory: Receive, inspect, and manage steel materials and tools required for construction projects. Maintain an organized inventory and report any shortages or damages promptly.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with other construction professionals, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to ensure smooth project execution. Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to stakeholders.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery used in steel carpentry. Report any malfunctioning equipment and ensure timely repairs or replacements.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and advancements in steel carpentry. Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement through workshops, seminars, or certifications.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Steel Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of steel carpentry techniques, welding methods, and steel fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and guidelines associated with steel construction.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of steel materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and the ability to accurately measure, cut, and shape steel components.
  • Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in physically demanding environments.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering highquality work.
  • Valid certifications or licenses related to steel carpentry (if applicable).
