Senior Technical Software Engineer

Job Purpose: Support in drivingand implementing software engineering strategies standards andguidelines in the assigned feature team. Collaborate with the teamto develop business critical technical solutions through theapplication of software programming robust engineering practicesand built in quality. Job also includes planning/estimationapplication development deployment release hypercare and operationof developed solutions. The job holder provides technicalleadership to the assigned team in the software developmentlifecycle
In this role you will be responsibleto:
- Collaborate with the team todeliver technical design development and deployment of complexsolutions within relevant product. Carry out effective technicaldesign reviews to ensure that the right architecture patterns areused by the team.
- Drive the adoption ofEngineering practices implement development process automation leansoftware development builtinquality test driven development agilepractices and timely root cause analysis and blameless incidentpostmortems.
- Partner with crossfunctionalteams to determine viability of solutions. Evaluate currentproblems future requirements and existing solutions in medium tolarge projects to enable high level design and driveproofofconcepts and implement prototypes to validate ideas
- Investigate debug and fix complex issuesinvolving corner cases and rare conditions. Support continuousimprovement by investigating alternatives and new technologies andpresenting these for architectural review.
- Contribute to sprint/work design and planningby providing subject matter expertise on business domain andrelevant technologies and actively contribute to technologyspecific community of practices.
- Manage andmentor Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge developmentthrough advice coaching and training opportunities. Responsible fortheir technical deliveries and adherence to design and codingstandards and practices.
- Ensure optimal use ofenterprise application platforms tools and libraries in line withthe approved technology architecture.
- Responsible for corrective adaptivepreventative and perfective maintenance of products incollaboration with other capabilities for the relevantproduct.
Qualifications& Experience: To be considered for this role you must meetthe below requirements:
- Degree or Honours (123 orequivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer ScienceComputational Mathematics Computer Engineering or SoftwareEngineering.
- 2 years of relevant SoftwareEngineering experience preferably in agile ways of working andrange of technologies: Java/J2EE with AngularJS/ReactJS Cloud(AWS/Azure/GoogleCloud etc.
- Experience ofdeveloping advanced technology solutions for large complexorganisations in a multifunctional environment.
- Experience in providing production support forbusiness solutions.
- Strong knowledge in Fullstack development capabilities technology evaluation vendorselection and technology vendor management
- Experience in implementation of contemporaryengineering practices like lean software development test drivendevelopment continuous integration and continuous deployment
- Experience in establishing and managingtechnology platforms for DevOps Code Management Testing ContinuousIntegration and Continuous Deployment.
Knowledge/skills:
- Experience of developingadvanced/Complex technology Software solutions for large complexorganisations in a multifunctional environment.
- Solid experience in data modelling systemsdesign and expert coder.
- Experience inproviding production support for business solutions using ITILframework
- Deep experience in Full stackdevelopment capabilities covering all layers ( i.e UI/Middlewareand Databases)
- Expert in Technology technicalevaluation vendor selection and technology vendor management usingdata driven models
- Implementation ofcontemporary engineering practices like lean software developmenttest driven development continuous integration and continuousdeployment
- Establishing and managingleveraging technology platforms for DevOps Code Management TestingContinuous Integration and Continuous Deployment for ensuringrobust and reliable code base is always maintained.
