As an Estimation Engineer specializing in water and wastewater pumping stations within the UAE, you will have the crucial responsibility of accurately assessing project costs and creating detailed bid proposals. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the competitiveness and success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation:
    Prepare precise cost estimates for water and wastewater pumping station projects by meticulously analyzing project specifications, drawings, and relevant information. Conduct thorough assessments of project requirements, including materials, labor costs, and subcontractor bids.
  • Bid Preparation:
    Develop detailed bid proposals in response to tender invitations, ensuring strict adherence to project requirements and specifications. Collaborate with various stakeholders to compile technical and commercial proposals, interpreting tender documents comprehensively.
  • Technical Evaluation:
    Evaluate technical aspects of project requirements such as pump selection, piping systems, and control systems to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards. Propose technically sound solutions that align with project objectives and quality standards.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination:
    Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing for materials and services essential for projects. Negotiate contracts and agreements to establish favorable terms and conditions.
  • Value Engineering:
    Identify opportunities for value engineering to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising quality. Propose alternative solutions or methodologies to optimize project costs.
  • Risk Assessment:
    Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies. Evaluate the impact of risks on project cost and schedule and integrate risk allowances into cost estimates.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bid proposals, correspondence, and project-related documentation. Create detailed reports and presentations for internal management and client review.
  • Collaboration:
    Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, designers, and team members to ensure alignment of cost estimates with project goals and requirements. Participate actively in project meetings, offering valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in water and wastewater pumping station projects. Identify areas for process enhancement and contribute to the development of standardized estimation procedures.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.


Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in the water and wastewater sector. Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, piping, screening, stormwater and sewage, and control systems. Excellent analytical, numerical, and problemsolving skills. Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Familiarity with UAE regulations and standards pertaining to water and wastewater projects is advantageous.
