Job Description Summary:

Global Commodity Leader for Construction will provide strategic leadership for driving cost-out on all construction spend globally and focus on improving cash across Gas Power Projects.

Additionally, will serve as Middle East Africa South Asia - MEASA regional focus point for contracts/MSAs. Effectively manage the Construction commodity worldwide in order to support the Business and the Product Lines. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction.

Drives best practices and how area integrates with others learning from industry lessons learned to differentiate us in the market.

Will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy to drive Safety Quality Deliver Cost - SQDC outcomes and incremental deflation with new supplier optionality / diversification in near shore and best cost regions.

Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the supplier panel and the suppliers
  • Develops sourcing strategies on Gas Power portfolio, including but not limited to Global Services, in terms of technology, quality, delivery and total cost.
  • Participate to spend/supplier analysis for each purchasing site, identify the risks (price increases, monopoly, unfavorable market trends, monopoly ) and the opportunities (consolidate spend, use of preferred suppliers, contract expirations, favorable market dynamics, etc.)
  • Provide alternative and/or innovative ideas and project to increase savings (usage; deflation; cost avoidance etc.) or reduce spend.
  • Negotiate MSA/contracts (Including payment terms) and SOW with suppliers (preferred and nonpreferred), included vendor consigned inventory where applicable
  • Support suppliers risk management across all Business Units
  • P&Ls and Sub commodities including Sourcing/Finance/Supply Chain/Commercial to set up relevant process and action plans to mitigate Raw Material increase.
  • Work and collaborate with Cross GE Business Category Team for the specific commodities to gather price trends, preferred supplier information, etc
  • Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others
