The Workday Sr.Business Systems Manager is responsible for leading a team ofsystem analysts in the expansion, support and maintenance of ourglobal finance enterprise applications.


They willwork closely with the business teams (ourcustomers), technical staff and vendors to assessbusiness requirements, processes and align them with appropriatetechnology solutions that result in improved functionality, processefficiency and accuracy.


They willapply their understanding of accounting and financial applicationsto partner with our customers to achieve the highest levels ofbusiness performance and financial excellence on a global scale.


They willoversee and support all aspects of delivery inclusive of planning,requirements, design, configuration, testing, deployment andproduction support.


They willmanage a team of between 5+ fulltime workday business systemanalysts plus 1-3contractors.


Candidatesshould possess a balance of functional and technical expertise. Theposition requires excellent project management leadership, businessanalysis, team development, coaching/mentoring, and communicationskills.


ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:

  1. Hire,develop and lead a high functioning team, working to ensure theyhave the knowledge, experience and skills necessary to supportsystems and related initiatives
  2. Thoroughlyunderstand the needs of customers, evaluates products and features,and uses this information to determine and recommend how businessobjectives can be met.
  3. Partnerwith business, senior leadership, other departments and vendors todevelop and deliver against agreed upon priorities with exceptionalquality and collaboration
  4. Plan,staff, manage and monitor multiple parallel deliveries ranging insize and complexity
  5. Establishand maintain best practice processes and procedures to ensure thatour customers are supported, and our systems aremaintained
  6. Draws onsubstantial experience to represent the voice of the customer tovarious teams throughout the product lifecycle to ensure that thedelivered products meet or exceed customer needs and objectives
  1. Useinfluence and expertise to promote an atmosphere of cohesivenessand focused collaboration between all the members of the team inthe interest of driving the product forward



TYPICALEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business orequivalent
  • 5+ yearsof direct management of functional and/or technical teams insupport of largeERP applications
  • 7+years of experience in gathering functional requirements, preparingdesign documentation, configuring applications and providing systemsupport
  • 5+years of experience with implementing and supporting components ofWorkday Financials Management isrequired
    • Primary:Core Finance (e.g. GL, Assets, FDM)
    • Secondary:Procurement (e.g. Purchasing, AP,Expenses)
  • Experiencewith Workday Customer Accounts (e.g. Billing, AccountReceivables) is a plus
  • Experiencewith multi-national organizations and systems preferred
  • Workingknowledge of various System Development Life Cycle methodologies(e.g. agile, iterative, waterfall, etc.)
  • Strongbackground/experience with accounting and financeconcepts isrequired (e.g. GL close process,consolidations, inter-company, revenue accounting,etc.)
  • Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strongorganizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptionalverbal and written communication skillsisrequired.
  • An abilityto establish and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Familiaritywith project management processes and concepts
  • Thoroughknowledge of and demonstrated skills in use of software such as MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Smartsheets, etc.
  • Knowledgeof database concepts and proficiency with MS SQL
