Principal Engineer

- Support the Project ControlsManager/ Manager Planning who will be responsible for the ultimateplanning and controls deliverables under theProject.
- Participate in the tendering processby providing input to the initial Project Execution Plan in termsof Level 1. 2 and 3 planning. In particular, supporting theproposals manager with a full understanding of the logicalsequencing of activities through engineering tohandover.
- Develop the Level 1, 2 and 3schedules from the tender phase, into working schedules forexecution, taking into account input from engineering, procurement,construction and commissioning disciplines, while providingguidance on optimizing the schedule.
- Guide insetting up of the Technical Document Register (TDR) and ProjectProcurement Tracking Register (PTR), and pursue population of therequisite data into these registers with Engineering andProcurement disciplines respectively.
- Work withsubcontractor or partner construction planners to develop optimumsequencing of activities in construction such that realistic dateare set for engineering and procurement activities to facilitatethe necessary durations for efficient installation,pre-commissioning and commissioning.
- Ensure theTDR and PR is updated in line with Project reporting requirements,and report any serious deviations to projectmanagement.
- Prepare project S curves for allindividual engineering disciplines, procurement andconstruction.
- Prepare weekly and monthlyprogress figures for input to weekly/monthly reports. Ensure thatremaining forecast planning is achievable in light of progressfigures, and highlight to project management areas where planningwill require to be altered to remedy delays or potential delays inschedule.
- Collate commodity information fromdiscipline engineers and prepare commodity curves for handover toconstruction management and subsequentmonitoring.
