  • To conduct anesthesia for routineand emergency surgical patients resuscitate as a team member andmanage critically ill ventilated ICUpatients.
  • To conduct essment &re-essment for all patients in the OPD, on admission, and prior toany procedure.
  • Provides anesthesia with thefull range of anesthetic agents.
  • Providestechnical advice and guidance to nursing staff, other specialistsand registrars, as required, and provides orientation/training innew techniques and procedures.
  • Interviewspatients scheduled for surgery to es and develop an anesthesia careplan and to elish rapport and allay fear andapprehension.
  • Manage patients during sedationand during the period of actual recovery from sedation and doentsmonitoring.
  • Sees patients post operatively toevaluate recovery from anesthesia, to ess complications and makerecommendation as indicated.
  • Supervises andmaintains appropriate doentation on the “controlled” for the division in the Obstetrical operating theatersand main O.R.
  • Keeps current with new proceduresand techniques in the field ofAnesthesia.
  • Takes active part in the teachingof junior anesthesiologists and other nursingstaff.
  • To conduct anesthesia services inappropriate dosages for all age groups in routine or emergencysituations.
  • Actively participate inCPR.
  • Provides on-call emergency services ofanesthesia services.
  • Graduate from anaccredited school of Medicine with an MBBS degree.
  • Post graduate degree in Anesthesia (MDAnesthesiology) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of threeyears full time in the practice of anesthesiology post MD(Anesthesiology) or post certification by American Board ofAnesthesiology or post Fellow of the College of Anesthetists of theRoyal College of Surgeon (FCA / FRCA) examination or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safe use of allgeneral anesthetic agents, techniques and ods currently accepted inthe practice of anesthesia.
  • Ability in theabsence of the Chief Anesthesiologist, to provide on-site essmentof personnel, equipment and overall anesthesiaenvironment.
  • Has high standard ofprofessionalism.
