Position Summary The Physics Department at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the daily operations of its teaching and research laboratories. Job Responsibilities Setting up the labs. Performing routine maintenance on instruments. Ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Managing inventory. Maintaining lab instruments in good working conditions. Organizing storerooms. Assisting students and lab instructors during experiments Qualifications And Skills Required Bachelor’s degree in physics, science, engineering, information technology, or a related field. Minimum of two years’ work experience in the same setting Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and effectively. Proactive and responsive in addressing queries and technical concerns. Collaborative and supportive team player. Reliable, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality. Flexible and willing to work varied hours as required. Technical Skills Proficiency in basic computer applications and digital tools used in laboratory settings. Hands-on experience with setting up and troubleshooting general laboratory equipment.
