Description:

• Specimen processors take incomingsamples and input data into the computer system/create labellingfor samples
• Will be handling the enclosedsamples with PPE but do not directly touch open swabs/perform testson the samples
• Receive, identify, label, andprocess specimens as required forprocessing.
• Labeling of specimen containers,slide(s), and any other materials submitted by theclient.
• Ability to handle all specimentypes.
• Multi-task between different types ofrequisitions.
• Maintain departmental productiongoals to ensure hourly specimen flow to the labs areconsistent.
• Review, transcribe, and enterdemographic and specimen data into the laboratory informationsystem with 100% accuracy.
• Recognize specimenproblems and refer to designatedpersonnel.
• File Requisition Slips, glassslides, and paraffin blocks assisting Laboratory Aide(s) asneeded.
• Perform supply maintenance and clean-upduties to help workflow andefficiency.
• Candidates will be reading andentering data information that come from labels that werepreviously on specimen bags. They will handle sealed samples aswell as other samples like blood, stool, urine, biopsies, etc. andwear proper personal protective equipment and follow World HealthOrganization’s guidelines.
  

Skills andQualifications:

• High schooldiploma/GED
• Ability to workovernight
• 30WPM
• Comfortable with human sample
