EndodontistResponsibilities:

• Reviewing patients' medicalhistory and discussing their symptoms andconcerns
• Utilizing dental instruments and x-rayequipment to determine the cause of patients' oral pain anddiscomfort
• Formulating suitable treatment plansbased on the diagnosed dentalcondition
• Performing nonsurgical root canaltreatment to treat damaged or infected toothpulp
• Performing endodontic surgery to cleancanals that contain calcium deposits, assist in making accuratediagnoses, and treat damaged root surfaces or surroundingbone
• Performing apicoectomies to treatpersistent inflammation or infection occurring in the bony areaaround the end of the tooth
• Maintaining teeththat have previously undergone root canalprocedures
• Replanting teeth that have beenknocked out of patients'mouths
• Completing a comprehensive diagnosis,treatment, and progress notes on each patient
  
  

Requirements

EndodontistRequirements:

• Doctor of dental surgery (DDS) orDoctor of dental medicine (DMD)degree
• Completion of a post-doctoral residencyprogram in endodontics
• License to practicedentistry
• Certification through the AmericanBoard of Endodontics (ABE) is preferred
• Provenexperience working as an Endodontist
• Excellentanalytical and problem-solving skills
• Effectivecommunication skills
• Good hand-eyecondition
• A patient and empatheticdisposition
