Provides nursing care of women andtheir babies in a safe, effective, timely and acceptablemanner.
Expert knowledge of midwifery andnormal birth agenda.
Administers interventions,treatments, and medications in accordance with legislation, FUHpolicies, and professional standards ofpractice.
Demonstrates a commitment to andunderstanding of continuity of care.
Providesnursing care as directed by each woman and in accordance with thewoman’s written Care Plan and woman’sneeds.
Proactively protects, promotes, andsupports breastfeeding, in accordance with accreditationguidelines.
Ensures the woman is provided withappropriate information to make informed decisions relating tocare, and that care reflects client’spreferences.
Demonstrates culturally safepractice and respects the woman’s ethnic, social, andreligious background.
Adapts education to meetthe specific needs of the woman/family.
Ensuresdocumentation is current, accurate, timely and maintainsconfidentiality within a legal and ethicalframework.
Maintain high standards of Midwiferyand Neonatal Nursing care within a safeenvironment.
