Accountant

Overview The Accountant will independently manage all accounting, taxation, and financial reporting activities for the company’s operations in Oil & Gas trading and services, Real Estate activities, and General Trading. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations as issued by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), along with the ability to manage accounts end-to-end without supervision. The Accountant will ensure full compliance, accurate reporting, proper documentation, and timely statutory filings. Key Responsibilities Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts independently Record all sales, purchases, expenses, payroll, bank transactions, and journal entries Manage accounts payable and receivable, including follow-ups and reconciliations Perform bank, supplier, customer, and inter-company reconciliations Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts VAT Compliance (FTA – UAE) Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT Law and Executive Regulations Correct application of standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, and out-of-scope transactions Handle VAT treatment for Oil & Gas trading and services, and for import & export transactions Reverse charge mechanism (RCM) Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns on time Maintain proper VAT documentation and audit-ready records Handle FTA audits, clarifications, penalties, and reassessments Ensure correct issuance and validation of tax invoices and credit notes Corporate Tax Compliance (UAE CT) Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax Law and FTA guidelines Prepare Corporate Tax computations, adjustments, and supporting schedules Assess deductible vs non-deductible expenses Handle related party transactions; arm’s length principles (where applicable); tax grouping considerations (if applicable) Prepare and submit Corporate Tax returns Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors when required Maintain all Corporate Tax records and disclosures as per FTA requirements Industry-Specific Accounting Oil & Gas / General Trading Accounting for purchase orders, sales orders, shipments, inventory, and landed costs Tracking LCs, bank guarantees, advances, retention amounts, and partial payments Revenue recognition based on delivery and contractual terms (EXW, FOB, CIF, etc.) Accounting for rental income, service charges, deposits, and expenses VAT treatment of residential vs commercial properties Tracking long-term receivables and lease-related income Reporting & Audits Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) Coordinate annual external audits and provide required schedules Support bank requirements, compliance letters, and financial confirmations Prepare financial reports for management decision-making Controls, Compliance & Administration Ensure compliance with UAE laws, FTA regulations, and internal controls Maintain organized financial and tax records Monitor cash flow and advise management on financial risks Liaise with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities Ensure confidentiality and data accuracy at all times Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (mandatory) Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA (strong advantage) Experience 5–8 years of UAE accounting experience Proven experience as a standalone / sole accountant Strong hands-on exposure to UAE VAT and Corporate Tax (FTA) Experience in Oil & Gas trading, Real Estate, or General Trading is highly preferred Strong knowledge of UAE VAT & Corporate Tax regulations Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and documentation Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho, or similar) Advanced MS Excel skills Strong communication and coordination skills Language Requirements Arabic – advantage Other Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries: Business Consulting and Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
