Your Impact in This Role
As part of the development and updating of our global operations, we are currently recruiting a Director Projects Minerals, with regional responsibility for delivering capital projects >EUR 1 million in Northern and Central Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany and Poland). The Director Projects will be responsible for and coordinate the entire life cycle of the assigned projects, from scope definition and resource planning to commissioning, ensuring all projects are managed with an ownership mindset, adding value and maintaining integrity.
With the support of the "Design" and "Electrical + Automation" Engineering teams during the design phase, you will ensure sound project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource management/organization, as well as risk assessment/mitigation. You will also cooperate with the Procurement team to ensure a robust sourcing strategy.
What You Bring to the Table
With an engineering background in a heavy industrial environment (mining/minerals, cement, aggregates, etc.), you must have experience overseeing various greenfield and brownfield industrial projects, where minerals technology is a key element. Experience running a construction site on a tight budget is also desirable.
You should have at least a bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Design, Process Automation, Electrical Design, or Civil Design), formal Project Management training, and at least 10 years' experience in an industrial environment (preferably mining/minerals but also construction, cement, or aggregates) within a global industrial organization. Strong business acumen and a sound understanding of project evaluations, as well as the ability to interpret an NPV model, are essential. Fluent English is vital for this role, and any other European languages associated with the region would be highly desirable.
