Your mission

A Senior Audio Technician plays a critical role in ensuring seamless event delivery from the audio perspective. They are responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of audio production, ensuring high-quality sound, and managing equipment to achieve the best possible outcomes for both the team and the broader organization.

Technical Expertise And Oversight

  1. Lead in setting up, maintaining, and operating audio equipment for a variety of events.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair equipment when necessary to ensure seamless operations at all times.
  3. Ensure that all audio setups meet the technical and quality standards.
  4. Provide on-site technical support for live events, adjusting sound settings as needed.
Team Leadership And Coordination

  1. Support junior team members, guiding them in proper audio equipment handling, setup, and troubleshooting.
  2. Coordinate with the Crew and other units (e.g., video, lighting) to ensure that audio work aligns with other technical elements of event production.
  3. Train new team members, ensuring they are familiar with the latest audio technology and best practices.
Sound Design And Quality Control

  1. Oversee the mixing of live sound, balancing levels, clarity, and other factors to create the best possible audio experience for the audience.
  2. Adjust sound levels during live events, ensuring consistency and preventing issues like feedback or distortion.
  3. Work closely with the project management team to understand specific sound needs for events and adapt sound design as necessary.
Equipment Management

  1. Manage the inventory of audio equipment, ensuring that it is well-maintained, operational, and up-to-date.
  2. Oversee the testing of equipment before and after events or sessions, ensuring functionality and reliability.
  3. Ensure all audio equipment is safely transported, set up, and packed away according to industry safety standards.
Collaboration And Communication

  1. Act as the point of contact for any audio-related issues or queries, liaising with other units to resolve technical challenges.
  2. Maintain clear communication with project managers, technical planners, technicians and other team members to ensure that the audio design meets the overall vision for the project.
  3. Provide feedback and technical advice to other team members to ensure the team operates efficiently.
Your profile

  1. Proven working experience as an audio technician/sound engineer for events.
  2. Proficiency with a variety of audio equipment, including mixing consoles, microphones, amplifiers, speakers, and digital audio workstations.
  3. Ability to set up, operate, and maintain sound systems for live events such as concerts, conferences or theater productions.
  4. Experience working with VectorWorks.
  5. Knowledge of various L-Acoustics systems and their configurations; ability to work with L-Acoustics Networked Control Software, such as L-Acoustics SoundVision and L-ISA technology.
  6. L-Acoustics certifications, namely Drive Systems, System implementation, Sound Vision, M1-P1, K/L Systems, Speaker Calibration and L-ISA, are a big plus.
  7. English language proficiency is a must.
  8. Strong communication (verbal, written) and organizational skills.
  9. Team player mindset and can-do approach.
