Responsibilities:
- Oversee all tax compliance related decisions and activities in the organization, ensuring tax compliance and staying up-to-date on new tax laws.
- Develop and implement Group Tax strategy.
- Expand tax role into regulatory services.
- Provide a full range of VAT services in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Ensure minimum irrecoverable VAT to the Company.
- UAE Specific: Review monthly VAT Returns, ensure timely and accurate filing, and reconcile returns with accounting records.
- Set up and manage an effective system of VAT collection and remittance.
- UAE Specific: Prepare, draft, review Corporate Tax Returns, and ensure Transfer Pricing compliance, evolving to include broader compliance mandates.
- UAE Specific: Assist with FATCA/CRS compliance as applicable.
- Coordinate with inter-group companies to collect tax returns and compile submissions for tax authorities across all applicable countries.
- Manage tax provision and tax compliance processes.
- Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits, assessments, appeals, and litigations.
- Maintain and safeguard tax-related documents and records.
- Build relationships with General Managers of the Business Units to provide expert planning and consultation in tax management.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks.
- Collaborate with IT functions and Group Finance Controller to ensure the indirect tax process is efficient and cost-effective.
