  • Establish procedures and timeframes to provide students with academic, personal, social,emotional and psychological counseling.
  • Workwith new students to ensure a smooth adjustment to theschool.
  • Provide students with guidance onadmission to higher educationinstitutions.
  • Organize and processrecommendations for students to higher education institutions andprovide assistance with applicationprocedures.
  • Provide opportunities for studentsto take tests for admission to higher educationinstitutions.
  • Maintain and update a list ofcolleges and universities which have accepted students from theschool.
  • Liaise with the Librarian to provideand update careers and college material
  • Inconjunction with senior management team organize and coordinatecareers session with representatives from a range ofprofessions.
  • Establish, maintain and update arecord of Alumni.
  • Establish procedures forsecuring external assistance for students with personal problemsand emotional needs.
  • Work with the seniormanagement team to develop experiences and activities which arebeneficial for students’ holistic development, and whichpromote responsibility, leadership skills, cooperation and otherpersonal and social skills.
  • Maintain studentrecords on progress, achievements, activities andinterests.
  • Establish proactive guidelines andprocedures to deal with bullying.
  • Establish andadminister appropriate testing programmes to evaluate studentaptitude and achievement.
  • Establish systems tonotify parents promptly about problems in class, with school workor behavioral issues.
  • Ensure the GEMS policies,procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at alltimes.
  • Initiate effort and energy beyond thetypical work day, where the tasks require additionalcommitment.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve oncommittees as required. Perform other duties as requested by direct& dotted reporting line managers /supervisors.
