Information Security Administrator

Performs user and access administration ondesignated systems and applications, in accordance with the definedpolicies, standards and procedures of theorganization
Performs system securityadministration on designated technology platforms, includingoperating systems, applications and network security devices, inaccordance with the defined policies, standards and procedures ofthe organization, as well as with industry best practices andvendor guidelines
Performs installation andconfiguration management of security systems and applications,including policy assessment and compliance tools, network securityappliances and host-based securitysystems
Performs threat and vulnerabilityassessments, in some cases followed by appropriate remedial action,to ensure that systems are protected from known and potentialthreats and are free from knownvulnerabilities
Applies patches whereappropriate and, at the direction of [manager responsible forsecurity administrator], removes or otherwise mitigates knowncontrol weaknesses, such as unnecessary services or applications orredundant user accounts, as a means of hardening systems inaccordance with security policies andstandards
Locates and repairs securityproblems and failures
Collates securityincident and event data to produce monthly exception and managementreports
Performs normal and exceptionalprocessing of user access and change requests, escalating suchrequests when appropriate
Reports unresolvednetwork security exposures, misuse of resources or noncompliancesituations using defined escalationprocesses
Assists and trains junior teammembers in the use of security tools, the preparation of securityreports and the resolution of securityissues
Develops and maintains documentationfor security systems andprocedures
Researches, recommends, evaluatesand implements cybersecurity solutions that identify and/or protectagainst potential threats, and respond to securityviolations
Provides guidance to junior membersof theteam
Qualifications:
Minimumof [2+] years of IT or network securityexperience:
[1-2] years of experience for ajunior security administrator
[3-5] years ofexperience for a senior securityadministrator
Bachelor's degree ininformation systems, or equivalent workexperience
Certifications from [list ofrequired vendorcertifications].
Certifications from [list ofrequired independent security organizations offering certification]or other certifications at the discretion of [manager responsiblefor security administrator]
Strong analyticaland problem-solving skills to enable effective security incidentand problem resolution
