What You WillDo

The Financial Analystperforms data modeling and financial analysis. The FinancialAnalyst gathers, interprets, and evaluates financial informationand develops recommendations to achieve the organization'sfinancial objectives. Performs a variety of budgetary functionsimplementing the organizations budgetary program, policies, andprocedures. Provides support in the areas of budget, billing,reporting and financial management for initiatives of variousprojects, Units and Sections. Provide insight on financial trends,suggest optimization strategies, and offer insight into potentialbusiness models.

  • Developand assist in the management of annual budgets for operating andcapital expenses.
  • Provide information tomanagement by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports;making presentations of findings analyses andrecommendations.
  • Calculate intermediate figuressuch as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basicfinancial analysis.
  • Assist in the developmentof plans and budgets for operating and capitalexpenditures.
  • Forecast management plans andprepares monthly performance, explainingvariances.
  • Assist in determining financialconsequences of alternative methods, plans andstrategies.
  • Develop, formulate, and revisebudget request from various Programs, Units andSections.

What You WillNeed

  • AnACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET federal securityclearance
  • Bachelor's degree;Educational requirement may be waived if the candidate has five (5)or more years of experience.
  • Two (2) years ormore experience in:
    • Financial analysis, budgetformulation and budget executionexperience.
    • Financial calculations such as timeValue of Money, Annual Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return,Periodic Amortization, and using financial calculator and excelspreadsheets.
    • Calculating complex figures,forecast and prepare budgets and conducts financial/businessanalysis including the preparation ofreports.
    • Analyzing and applying problem solvingmethods to identify complex problems, draw conclusions, makerecommendations, and provide solutions to improve efficiency andeffectiveness.
  • In-depthknowledge of financial terms andprinciples.
  • Ability to calculate financialfigures such as percentages, discounts, andcommissions.

  • Experience in federal financialmanagement
  • Intermediate use ofSharePoint
  • Ability to build and managedashboards (Tableau or Power BI)
