Job Description Procurement Management Procuring all required materials, supplies, services and equipment; preparing all relevant contract documentation and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of optimal quality and cost‑effective materials and services in line with the organisation's needs. Coordinating the procurement process from requisition to purchase order, ensuring materials and services meet operational and safety standards. Investigating and identifying new suppliers and alternative products/services within the UAE, GCC region, or internationally. Implementing, updating and enforcing all framework agreements and internal procedures related to procurement activities. Working with various departments (e.g., operations, maintenance, QHSE) to determine requirements and specifications for needed materials and services. Ensuring timely delivery of goods and services required for operations, preventing delays. Coordinating all logistics functions such as import and export of goods for local and international shipments and coordinating with clearing agents/customs representatives to clear shipments on time. Maintaining accurate records of all purchases, including purchase orders, invoices and delivery notes. Ensuring the correct implementation of all relevant procurement policies and procedures. Performing any other duties as assigned by the department head. Supplier Management and Vendor Relations Assisting in identifying, evaluating and managing suppliers to ensure the best quality, price and delivery terms for materials and services. Communicating with suppliers to negotiate prices, quantities and delivery schedules, ensuring agreements align with company needs. Monitoring supplier performance, following up on issues related to delivery, quality and compliance with contractual terms. Building and maintaining good relationships with key suppliers to foster cooperation and support in achieving operational goals. Compliance and Documentation Ensuring all procurement activities comply with company policies, as well as local and international regulations. Verifying that all purchased materials meet required specifications and safety standards before acceptance and use in operations. Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date procurement documentation for auditing and regulatory purposes. Supporting regulatory inspections and audits related to procurement activities and materials handling. Cost Control and Budgeting Assisting in managing the procurement budget by tracking costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety. Ensuring that all procurement activities stay within the allocated budget and adhere to financial guidelines. Reporting any significant variations in cost and identifying reasons for discrepancies to management. Inventory and Stock Management Working with the inventory management team to ensure proper stock levels of materials, tools and equipment. Helping to manage and control stock inventories, ensuring the timely replenishment of materials based on operational demand. Overseeing the proper storage and handling of hazardous materials, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards. Safety and Environmental Compliance Ensuring that all procured materials and equipment comply with health, safety and environmental regulations. Promoting sustainability initiatives by sourcing eco‑friendly products or suppliers that comply with environmental standards. Monitoring safety standards in procurement practices to reduce risk and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations. Reporting and Coordination Providing regular reports on procurement activities, including purchase status and supplier performance. Coordinating with internal stakeholders to keep them informed of procurement progress and timelines. Assisting with planning and scheduling procurement to align with operational priorities and timelines. Work Conditions Based in Ruwais, UAE. Primarily office‑based, with occasional site visits to suppliers or project locations (approximately 25% of the time). Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, other Engineering or related field may also be considered. Additional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are advantageous. Experience 58 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 34 years in an industrial or hazardous waste environment. Experience with hazardous materials, safety regulations and environmental compliance is preferred. Skills Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management and contract negotiation. Good knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and safety standards. Ability to evaluate supplier performance and manage vendor relationships effectively. Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple procurement tasks simultaneously.
