Payroll Team Lead maintains, controls and processes payroll details of all employees and consultants to ensure prompt and accurate payment and in compliance with Ministry of Labour laws and regulations. Provides payroll-related report to Management to guide proper evaluation in decision making and highlight key issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Implement accurate and timely processing and payment of monthly payroll of all employees/ consultants based on the payroll summary provided by Human Resources while considering any other relevant adjustments like staff advances and other benefits like annual leave ticket and leave salary.
  • Calculate and process payment of final settlement.
  • Process payment of school fees and other staff related benefits like annual leave ticket, leave salary and staff advances.
  • Issue payment thru fund transfer or cheque and ensure acknowledgement receipt from the employee receiving cheque or cash payment.
  • Record, reconcile and maintain accurate payroll accounts (including disbursements but not limited to salary) and keep files on a confidential manner.
  • Lead Payroll system implementation.
  • Issue monthly pay slip for employees.
  • Ensure all supporting documents are complete and properly authorized as per Company policy.
  • Respond to payroll queries or complaints.
  • Facilitate audit by providing payroll information and documents to internal/external auditors and Ministry of Labour (including payroll register, paid salary, overtime, provision for leave, indemnity, annual leave ticket, bonuses and staff advances).
  • Closely coordinate with HR for any payroll update and Treasury Account for cash management and payments made on a daily basis.
  • Maintain ethics and confidentiality of data made accessible to the position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting / finance.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Oil & gas, construction, infrastructure or project sector environment is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduation of broad payroll management experience of which 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in Payroll system implementation is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Application like Excel and Payroll related software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge on Wages Protection System.
  • GCC knowledge of labour laws and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of staff and payroll information.
