Locum Porter

POSITION: LOCUM PORTER -MEDICAL RECORDS for 6 - 12months

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintainsrecord availability by processing delivery and retrieval usingchart mark-off procedures; facilitating chart locationactivities.

• Retrievesmedical records by following chart-out procedures; documentingreasons charts cannot be retrieved for statistical and follow-uppurposes.

• Deliverscharts to assigned areas of the hospital by following establishedroutingprocedures.

• Keepshealth care providers informed by communicating availability orunavailability of therecord.

• Collectionof Emergency Department records as per theschedule.

• Deliveryof health records in the approved delivery system while ensuringsafety confidentiality andsecurity.

• Sortloose information in the appropriate format andsorter.

• Filingof charts in the appropriate storage /filingareas.

• Interdepartmentalshredding as per identifieddocuments.

• Matchall loose reports using at least two patientidentifiers.

• Secureworkarea.

• Collection,as per the schedule at pre-definedperiods.

• Maintainsconfidentiality of all data and information at all times.

• Deliveryof requested records as per the need and therequest.

• Printspull list and tracer cards of booked clinic appointments and printsclinic add-on list and prepares patient records accordingly.

• Appropriateusage of chart tracking module ensuring that patient recordlocations are continuouslyupdated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• HighSchool Diplomapreferred.

PROFESSIONALEXPERIENCE:

• Experiencea recommendation (Medical Records / Health Informatics).
• Knowledgeable about medical terminology,security and confidentiality.
• Ability andcomprehension in written and spokenEnglish.
