Biomedical Engineer

The basic role of the teachingassistant is to provide effective support to the faculty incarrying out their responsibilities towards the university and itsstudents throughout their journey from the start to finish. Thisinvolves assistance in teaching, advising, supervising, training,guiding and supporting students in all curricular and co-curricularactivities which includes social and recreationalactivities.

In addition to teaching activitiesthe teaching assistant is required to assist the faculty inresearch activities as well as providing assistance in allactivities related to the services provided by the university touniversity stakeholders.

The teachingassistant should have appropriate qualifications and experience toprovide skills to engage positively with requirements of the workand should be able to adapt to flexible workinghours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support to thefaculty/instructor to ensure a safe and stimulating educationalenvironment;
• Assist the faculty/instructor inthe planning, preparation and implementation of dailyteaching/learning activities;
• Assist thefaculty in planning, preparing and developing various teaching aidsfor use in classroom;
• Assist in the planning,developing and management of teachinglaboratories;
• Assist students, individually orin groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learningconcepts;
• Participate in college committees andcarry out other tasks related to course/ college assigned by Dean,Head of Department and/ or courseInstructor;
• Help students and researchers inthe college in conducting experiments, research andprojects;
• Assist faculty/instructor inorganizing and implementing internshipprograms;
• Assist faculty in activities relatedto students advising;
• Assist in organizing andimplementing co-curricular activities within the university andoutside.

• A minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in theBiomedical Engineering / related discipline with ability todemonstrate strong communication skills, English proficiency andability to use software packages and engage with the latestlearning/teaching tools.
• Knowledge inexperimentation with human subjects, use of microcontroller andinterface, advanced computer programing, and signal processing andis an added advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work isnormally performed in campusenvironment.
• Routine physical efforts inclassroom and laboratory settings are required, which may involvestanding for long hours.
