TaxReporting

  • Maintain thetax risk register and ensure that all material provided andunprovided tax risks are identified, understood, andtracked.
  • Ensure that all uncertain taxtreatments (UTTs) are properly documented andsupported.
  • Track and understand the taxcompliance cycle in each jurisdiction in order to ensure that taximpacts are correctly reflected in the Group’s financialstatements.
  • Monthly review of tax balance sheetreconciliations and reporting tools to ensure the correctness ofthe reported tax numbers.
  • Ensure that taxpayments are correctly recorded in the accounts and are allocatedto the correct project.
  • Compile and report taxpayments made across jurisdictions and ensure that adequatedocumentation is maintained.
  • Provide ad-hocoperations/business support.
  • Actively supportGroup Tax projects e.g. UAE Corporate Tax and TransferPricing.
  • Manage and resolve tax enquiries,audits and disputes.
  • Manage and work withexternal auditors to ensure that the tax audit process is completedsmoothly.
  • Support the preparation of taxdisclosures and schedules for legal entity financialstatements.
  • Deliver timely, accurate,meaningful, and right first-time periodic reports to update seniormanagement on the tax position of the businessunit.

FinancialControls

  • Monitor thefinancial statements risks associated with tax and respond byensuring the appropriate financial controls are designed,implemented, and operated effectively to provide reasonableassurance on the integrity of the financialstatements.
  • Assess opportunities to optimisethe financial controlsframework.

ProcessImprovement

  • IdentifyESSA (elimination, standardization, simplification, and automation)opportunities, and communicate to relevant stakeholders’inefficiencies including suboptimal processes in transactionalaccounting processes.
  • Build and sustain anetwork of key stakeholders to deliver processimprovement.
  • Improve data management and reportautomation through close collaboration with the Group FinanceSystems Manager and the Information Technology (IT)function.

Other

  • Monitorlegislative changes, assess the impact on the Group, and proposeand implement responses as appropriate.
  • Ensurefull compliance with all tax laws and Petrofac Group policies,standards, and procedures.
  • Address ad-hoc taxrelated queries from colleagues and support ad-hoc tax projects asrequired.
  • Mentoring and developing juniormembers of staff.
  • Escalating issues to the TaxLead when required and keeping them briefed on the teams'activities.
  • Train and raise awareness withinthe Team of the Group’s tax reporting requirements andprocesses.
