Responsibilities

  • Develops working drawings, withincompany and industry standards and codes, from equipmentspecifications and detailed drawings to support completion ofengineering. deliverables
  • Creates drawingsinvolving plans, layouts, Sections, and bills of material for bothSteel and Concrete
  • Investigate &resolve unusual design and field engineering problems with newapproaches or applying existing criteria in novelways.
  • Function as checker whenrequired.
  • Work with Lead Engineer in Layoutplanning.
  • Assist in Technical supervision ofCivil/Structural designers in the preparation of design drawingsand MTO.
  • Develops 3D models for complicatedindustrial Structures.
  • Works on assignmentsinvolving a variety of design procedures andtechniques.
  • Performs layouts, design andchecking work from the basic datasupplied.
  • Designs and makes detail drawingsfrom rough sketches involving intricate calculations and theapplication of fundamental engineeringprinciples.
  • Establishes project draftingstandards and monitors theirconformance.
  • Designs and constructs models,prototypes, processes, or equipment; compiles and evaluates data,makes recommendations, preparesreports.
  • Prepares estimates of time,quantities, materials, and labor required for activities related totesting, installation, manufacture, design, orconstruction.
  • Generates bill of materials fromfinished designs
  • Ensures quality in design,technical accuracy in the preparation of drawings, materialquantities, etc. including reviewing others work at more seniorlevels.
  • Plans assigned work effectively andobtains / provides information liaising with the project team. andline manager, in time to control man - hours and achievetargets.
  • Carries out site visits / surveys andprovides inputs to site visit reports.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering orequivalent. Bachelor’s degree in engineering ispreferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience indesign
  • Competent user of 3D modelling softwaresuch as SP3D, PDS, Navisworks, RevitStructure.
  • O&G / Industrial Buildingexperiences preferred.
  • An understanding ofrelated engineering principles and practices, plus training anddiversified experience in the field of activity isrequired.
  • Capable of interpreting key documentsincluding engineering standards, piping material specifications,P&IDs, and Line Lists
  • Technicallyoriented, mechanically inclined, good at mathematics and talentedat translating intangible concepts into hands - on projectplans.
  • Competent user of MicroStation andAutoCAD software
