Amazon Web Services (AWS) islooking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to joinour expanding Data Centers (DC) Cloud regions. Data CenterEngineering Operations Engineer is a handson electrical andmechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder.

As an Engineering Operations Engineer you willoperate and maintain AWS DCs worldclass mechanical and electricalinfrastructure following a processoriented approach. In additionyou will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementationof safety procedures.

Key job responsibilities
SAFETY
  • Follow and maintain the highestsafety standards and diligently encourage a worldclass safetyculture. As a facility owner team ensure remediation of safetyrisks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safetyinitiatives and projects to foster strong safetyculture.
ENGINEERING & FACILITYOPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
  • You willbe supporting electrical and mechanical equipment includingUninterruptable Power Supplies (UPSs) Switchgear Circuit BreakersAutomatic Transfer Switches (ATSs) Diesel Generators ChillersHeating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Exhaust Fans VariableFrequency Drives (VFDs) andTransformers.
  • Operate and maintain mechanicaland electrical mechanical emergency generator HVAC and fire/lifesafety equipment within the datacenter
  • Troubleshoot facility and racklevelevents within internal SLAs
  • Perform root causeanalysis of equipment failures
  • Drive innovationwhile reducing operational costs in thefacilities
DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Work rotational shifts of 4 days of12 hours shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights) and 4 days off(including night weekends and holidays) / Respond to oncallrotation reaction to offduty emergencycalls
  • Take daily operational readings of allmechanical and electrical equipment through routinerounds/logtaking (temperatures voltages currentsetc.)
  • Supervise contractors who performservicing or preventive maintenance
  • Perform thefollowing tasks with or without reasonableaccommodation:
  • Occasionally Moveobjects/material (weight limits in accordance withregulations)
o Work in outdoor weatherconditions.
o Work in noisy environments
o Workat heights and from ladders
