We are looking for a StaffSoftware Engineer II to join our Central Engineering team oftalented engineers that share a common interest in distributedbackend systems their scalability and continued development. Youwill design and build the backend systems that power the Careemengine scale highly distributed systems and continuously improveour engineering practices. These large scale distributed systemshandle everything from user requests to payment processing. Ourtech stack is Golang Java 8 and Spring Boot MicroServiceArchitecture SQL and noSQL DBs iOS and Android applications webfrontend and AWS infrastructure.

Keyresponsibilities:

  • Softwarearchitecture and design of our distributed backend system to meetthe challenging functional scalability and reliability requirementsfor our fastgrowing business.
  • Integratecomponents into a fully functional & validatedsystem.
  • Facilitate collaboration with otherarchitects engineers business owners and technical program managersto solve interesting and challenging problems across ourplatform.
  • Research emerging technology trendsand ideas.
  • Develop and implement softwareverification and quality assuranceprocedures
  • Document designs and reviewcode.
  • Continuously strive for higher qualityand productivity.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experiencein software development.
  • Experience inmultitiered distributed systems web services APIs and relational& NoSQL databases.
  • Extensive backendprogramming experience in one or more of the following: Golang JavaC/C Python.
  • Ability to: effectively articulatetechnical challenges and solutions; deal with loosely definedproblems and fast changing requirements & thinkabstractly.
  • A solid foundation in computerscience with strong competencies in data structures algorithms andsoftware design.
  • Proven knowledge of systemarchitecture.
  • Great communicationskills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects atthe same time.
  • Able to take individualownership of a project from start tofinish.
