The Lab Technicianperforms each essential duty safely, satisfactorily, and in atimely manner.

  • Majority ofthe role consists of color matching.
  • Understandand follow a batch ticket (recipe) with high degree of accuracy forweights and measurements.
  • Perform a widevariety of complex testing processes on production batches tomeasure product’s physical or chemicalcharacteristics.
  • Tests include, but are notlimited to, viscosity, weight per unit of measure, flow, gloss,color characteristics (compared with standards), and various othersimilar tests.
  • Will use a spectrophotometer forthe color matching and to test thestandards.
  • Test on materials from suppliers andbatches from production
  • Perform standardtesting procedures, including prep of materials, with attention todetail and high quality
  • Ensure raw materialsare available and correctly labelled
  • Correctlylabel and mail samples
  • Maintain QC recordsusing web based computer system
  • Prepare recordsfor submission
  • Testing on labequipment-viscosity, pH, weight per gallon, %solids
  • Maintaining and performing calibrationson machines

Skills&Qualifications

  • AS or BS ofScience
  • Open to non-degreed with laboratoryexperience
