Job Summary
The SystemsAdministrator is responsible to assist in designing andimplementing multiuser operating systems hardware and softwaretools including installation configuration maintenance and supportof these systems in alignment with the overall ITstrategy.

  • Support in the designconfiguration deployment and management of a centralizeddatacenter.
  • Assist in planning designing andmaintaining the computing technology infrastructure including allserver and storage environments.
  • Support inimplementing finetuning and configuring high availabilitytechnologies on all applicable services and equipment ensuringtheir reliability.
  • Participate in testingfailover and redundancy on regularbasis.
  • Support all aspects of data centeroperational functions including changes to the environment urgentissues escalations and newarchitectures.
  • Participate in operating systemsinstallation with advanced configurations of storage networkclustering and security considerations.
  • Supportin performing advanced servers administration activities such asuser management disks privileges andaccess.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks onproduction servers and storage.
  • Administer andconfigure all aspects of the virtualenvironment.
  • Support in the implementation andintegration of new technologies and solutions in the existing datacenter environment and provide recommendations and guidanceregarding overall system selection design andperformance.
  • Support the migration of existingtechnology systems to improved infrastructure for better capacityreliability availability andperformance.
  • Assist in planning and performinginfrastructure improvements enhancements upgrades andrepairs.
  • Assist in conducting preventivemaintenances perform advanced systems health checks and supportauditing of systems and applications.
  • Analyzesystem logs and identifying potential issues withsystems.
  • Support in monitoring networkconnectivity servers operations services shared resources log filesand file systems capacity hardware performance andscalability.
  • Perform software and securityupdates and other system configuration tasks to ensure the healthand availability of services.
  • Troubleshoot andresolve hardware and software problems including user access andcomponent configuration.
  • Perform routinescheduled backups and manage recoveryprocedures.
  • Actively follow and promote allpolicies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasksand duties that may be from time to time required in order to meetthe requirements of the role and the aims of theUniversity.

RequiredSkills
QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in IT ComputerScience or any other related field.
A certification in arelevant discipline from an accredited institution is aplus.
Normally three years of relevant workexperience.
Excellent computerproficiency/skills.
Fluent in English; Arabic ispreferred.

KEY PERFORMANCEAREAS:
