2024 Offcycle Intern ProgramGlobal Banking Middle East and North Africa based in Dubai startingJune 2024 for 6 months.

During your internshipyou will have the opportunity to:
  • Understand how our clients includingcorporates institutions private equity and governments operatebusinesses and consider strategicobjectives;
  • Be involved in and contribute tothe team providing M&A advice and execution includingspinoffs takeovers exchange offers and formation of jointventures;
  • Get to know capital markets throughIPOs capital raising rights issuances secondary offerings amongother situations;
  • Interact with the equitiesplatform to get an insight into the investor community views andtrends; and
  • Learn about debt capital marketsincluding corporate and emerging marketbonds.

What youll be doing;
  • Collect and analyse financial andoperating information pertaining to companies industries andgovernmental entities;
  • Build and maintainfinancial models including trading peers and precedent transactionsbenchmarks;
  • Conduct industry and productresearch
  • Draft internal and clientfacingpresentations in the context of pitches executions and othersituations; and
  • Attend team discussions andclient meetings where you may be asked to deliver parts of apresentation

Yourteam

  • Youll be working in ourInvestment Banking division which is based in Dubai and is part ofUBSs Global Banking business
  • The team providescoverage advisory capital markets and financing solutions forcorporate financial institutions and sponsorclients

Yourexpertise

You need to be in thepenultimate or final year of your degree or recently graduated butno more than 6 months from the start date of the internship. Inaddition you need to have or be on track for a 2:1 (UK gradingsystem) or the equivalent in your first undergraduate degree.

  • You have an ability to workas part of a global team with a selfstarting approach to problemsolving quantitative skills reliability andenthusiasm
  • You have strong analytical andnumerical abilities that put you at ease with financialdata
  • You are resultsdriven and perform wellunder pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Youhave a strong academic background and intellectual curiosity
  • You are fluent in English with excellentverbal and written communication skills
  • Abilityto communicate effectively in multiple languages would be anadvantage
  • You articulate complex ideas simplyand summarise them effectively
  • You arecommitted to excellence in your work and maintain high professionaland ethical standards
  • Previous investmentbanking / corporate finance experience is anadvantage
